Nicole Lisa Johnson, the founder and director of Let's Pretend, holds a Master of Arts degree in theatre and has worked in the Atlanta area for over 25 years as an actress, director and award-winning playwright. Ms. Johnson was the founding director of the Devereux Center theatre program and has been involved in educational theatre, playwriting and improvisation workshops around Atlanta. Directing credits include Fiddler on the Roof, The Wiz, Little Abner, Guys and Dolls, The Music Man, South Pacific, The King and I, My Fair Lady, West Side Story, The Diary of Anne Frank and The Miracle Worker among others. Ms. Johnson has also done freelance directing at private schools in the Atlanta area including The Marist School and King's Ridge Academy.
Mindy Dudek has been involved in entertainment since childhood primarily focusing on film. You may see her in a “Joe's Crab Shack” commercial or come across one of her many direct to DVD independent films in the bargain bin at Blockbuster. Whatever medium Mindy participates in, she appreciates the arts and being involved in the process of creativity. Mindy has two amazing daughters, Gabrielle and Athena, and loves to share her gifts with children of all ages. Her goal with Let’s Pretend is to equip children with the tools to confidently and compassionately express themselves through the arts while being a part of a loving and safe environment.
Karli Garrett Karli Garrett, who has her BA in Theatre from Kennesaw State University, is thrilled to be starting her second year with Let's Pretend! Karli, an award-winning actress, has done extensive stage, film and television work and is an active member of several comedy improv troupes in Atlanta. Special skills that Karli has trained for include On-Camera acting techniques, promotional modeling and a fluency in a variety of dialects.
DeVario Hannah, a new Atlantan, is a world traveled and accomplished film, TV, and commercial actor. Mr. Hannah is a graduate of The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) where he earned a B.A. in Theatre Arts. DeVario has a great passion for the arts and lives by the motto, "Life is a Stage, So Get to Playing."
Katie Pelkey received her Bachelor of Science from the Program in Educational Theatre, New York University, May 2008. In New York she worked as both an educator and a stage manager. Past New York Stage Management includes: New Plays for Young Audiences Play Development Series (2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008), WrOTE Festival at City Center (ASM, Manhattan Theatre Club), Kindertransport, The Tempest, As You Like It, Measure for Measure, Stories from the Magic Lake, Chatroom (American Premiere), Ethnotheatre Forum, Mad Forest, and transfigured. This fall she will be working as the Assistant Stage Manager for the Aurora Theatre's production of Dracula.
Nancy Nancy Riggs has been a professional actor and puppeteer working mostly in Atlanta for over 20 years. She has been teaching drama to all ages for about 15 years, including several years for Let's Pretend. You might have seen her work in Dinosaurs last winter at the Center for Puppetry Arts, or in Piccadilly Puppets shows all over town. She has worked for many other theatres, including the Alliance, the Shakespeare Tavern, the Atlanta Lyric and Theatre Gael. She also sings, dances and tells stories. In her spare time, Nancy is a competitive ice skater.
 
Jennifer Waldman is delighted to be joining the staff of Let’s Pretend as she loves kids, music, and theater; thus, Let’s Pretend is an incredibly logical and fun choice! A graduate of Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts, Jennifer earned her bachelor’s degree for vocal performance. Jennifer has been seen and heard in numerous musical productions and choral works including: L’enfant et les sortileges, The Pirates of Penzance, West Side Story, Mozart’s Requiem, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, and Verdi’s Requiem.
